Candidate profile:
All Francophone Charter School of Oakland teachers will have a passion for bilingualism and an enthusiasm for the dual French/English language model of the school. We know it is essential for teachers to have native-like fluency in any language in which they teach, and we are seeking this in our candidates. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching and/or service.
Every teacher must have a growth mindset and be open to continuous professional improvement, and all teachers must be willing to embrace the professional development offered that is necessary to create a cohesive campus that realizes the educational and cultural mission/vision/principles of Francophone Charter School of Oakland.
Education and training:
Anglophone candidates must have a valid California teaching credential by the first day of school. For out-of-the country candidates, this credential can be obtained by submitting translated transcripts from an official teacher training program (such as the French CRPE). Please note that all candidates from abroad will need to have their VISA & transcripts in order by June 30 2021 and plan to arrive in Oakland at least three weeks prior August 10, 2021 so all their employment documents can be in order.
A prior experience in a bilingual or language immersion school or program will be greatly appreciated, but we are open to having our campus be the first bilingual education experience for highly-skilled, dynamic elementary teachers who believe in our mission and vision.
Application Process:
Please upload a cover letter, resume and evidence of teaching experience and credential.
