Upcoming online teacher training sessions!

The Educational Service is delighted to offer the following teacher trainings online in September of 2022 (and stay tuned for upcoming sessions in October and November). Start off your year with these trainings that will provide you with great ideas on how to engage and motivate your students--no matter the context! Click this link to sign up for the following training sessions.

Participants will receive (upon request) a certification of participation for the hours of the training that can be used to prove professional development hours. Please note that each training takes place over two consecutive Saturdays in three-hour sessions; completion of both sessions is necessary to receive the certificate of participation.

1. La pédagogie différenciée et créativité with Catherine David of Aix-Marseille Université: Saturday, September 3 and Saturday, September 10 from 11 AM to 2 PM (EST).

Differences in language levels among students can become quite apparent in a given language class. Helping each student to progress, while considering their individual language level, instructional needs and sociolinguistic origin, poses a significant challenge to teachers that must construct several courses in one without giving up on a unified classroom. This training session will assist on several levels to create appropriate materials and successful group management, both while compensating for differences and celebrating them. Catherine David invites teachers to awaken their own creativity, and that of their students, in a diversified classroom.

2. L'intégration du numérique en classe de FLE with Christelle Combe of Aix-Marseille Université: Saturday, September 17 and Saturday, September 24 from 11 AM to 2 PM (EST).

In an increasingly technological world, technology has become a language of its own. Online spaces—whether in French or English—often function with a specific lexicon that can be tricky for a non-native speaker of either language to understand. Christelle Combe, Maîtresse de Conférences and expert in numerical spaces, will create a dialogue that helps us to bridge the distance between traditional language teaching and new technologies.

Click this link to sign up. You will receive an email with a link to connect before each of the trainings you select.

You will also be able to pre-register for the upcoming trainings in October and December (more information will be available shortly.)
