Thanks to the generous support of the Société des Professeurs Français et Francophones d'Amérique (SPFFA), we are excited to inform you that 20 more scholarships (for a total of 25) will be offered for teachers of French as a foreign language attending the CAVILAM program in Vichy!
Summer scholarship opportunities sponsored by the Embassy offer funding for American teachers to attend short training sessions in France during the month of July: 25 positions will be offered for teachers of French as a foreign language at CAVILAM French Alliance in the town of Vichy; and 5 positions for teachers of Dual Language & Immersion programs at CLA (Centre de Langues Appliquées) in the town of Besançon. The Embassy of France in the United States and the SPFFA sponsors selected participants to attend these trainings. The Cultural Services of the French Embassy are grateful to the SPFFA for their generous support.

- Applicants must currently hold a full time position as a teacher of French or a teacher in a French dual language or immersion program
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. French nationals are not eligible to apply.
- Those who have received a grant from the French Government over the last 3 years may not apply for grants in 2022.
- Applicants must have at least an intermediate level of proficiency in French (at least B1* level on the CEFR scale for teachers of French as a foreign language; at least B2** level on the CEFR scale for teachers in bilingual programs)
*B1 level is equivalent to the Intermediate High level on the ACTFL scale
**B2 level is equivalent to the Advanced Low level on the ACTFL scale
