Online professional development training on November 14th and 15th for the French DLI network.

With 167 public programs and close to 30,000 students impacted, the United States are home to the largest French DLI school network in the world and the Embassy is determined to continue supporting it through grants and free professional development opportunities. While in person professional development workshops had to be cancelled through the end of the year, the Embassy has partnered with the University of Southern California to offer a two-day online workshop on November 14th and 15th.

Considering that instruction is currently being delivered online in many schools, thus directly involving parents, this workshop will not only be open to educators but also to parents, as some sessions will address how non-French speaking parents can still support their children’s education. These sessions will be conducted entirely in English. Parents are welcome to register here and to participate in this session.

Other sessions will also cover some of the most burning issues in dual-language education such as distance learning techniques, ways to address equity and diversity in DLI programs, and a focus on resources available online and teaching material.

This workshop will also be an opportunity to gather with our partners and meet new people from the vibrant community of DLI programs. It will be an opportunity to receive training and exchange new ideas and best practices with teachers and administrators from all the over the country.
