JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2018

"Teach with children's literature"
Jan. 30th to Feb. 10th, 2018
Washington DC, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Bâton-Rouge, Tulsa, Atlanta.

Descriptif: French children’s literature is well-known for its high quality, which makes it a great resource for dual language schools and programs, and using these French language children’s books in complement to more conventional teaching tools makes for a more enriching learning experience.

Not only does it encourage a love for reading, but it also provides a new way for students to practice their French language skills and exposes children to a wide variety of topics (such as the sciences, geography, etc.).

This 6 hour training will be conducted by Marie Barguirdjian, who has been working in children’s entertainment and training teachers to learn to use children’s literature as an learning tool for many years. Marie is the author of children’s books and is the Ecole des loisirs North American representative — the Ecole des loisirs is the most important and reputable academic reference in France for Educational Nationale (ie. public) schools. Reading and experiencing children’s books is a way for children to bond among themselves. This makes it important for children’s books to be a part of students’ time at school and at home, which is why Marie trains teachers and librarians, as well as parents! Book reviews, discoveries, thematic listings and workshops are all available on her blog, artstramgram.org

This workshop is only open to LabelFrancEducation schools.
