Congratulation To The 2016 Spcd Teacher Grant Recipients For The Southeast!

For the 2016 edition 14 teachers from all over the Southeast (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee) sent their application to the Atlanta Office.

What is the SPCD Grant?

A Stage pédagogique de courte durée - SPCD is a training grant aimed at helping teachers perfect their skills in methodologies for teaching French language and culture. The SPCD grants are intended for teachers of French as a foreign language who work in American elementary or secondary schools.

The training sessions last two weeks and take place in France at a training center selected by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. 20 participants have been selected in 2016.

Each grant includes:

- Training fees, including a cultural activities package- Train tickets from the arrival city in France to the city of the training center (round-trip, 2nd class)- Housing costs: homestay with a French family (breakfast and dinner included)- An allowance (about 288 euros in 2015, subject to change in 2016) covering lunches at the training center, and various expenses (purchase of books, bus tickets, etc.)- A $600 allowance for the purchase of international plane tickets (the purchase of the plane tickets is the responsibility of the participant).


Grants are available to K-12 teachers of French as a foreign language and for immersion teachers.
